In the last picture,the lighting was terrible, but you can see that it was tuned to NOAA weather on 162.450. Once programmed, one click of the knob changes repeater frequencies. But, I mostly use the memory channels, so you only need to find the desired frequency once and save it. Scanning from 140-170 on the vfo can take a while doing this, so I always increase the step to. This 'issue' simply means you have to rotate the knob to change frequency/channel. Some radios only use these for dtmf sequences and link codes.As a matter of fact, very few radios of this time had direct frequency entry. This does not mean that the pad is broken. It is listed as is because I am not including the mostly dead battery pack (It's held together with tape and glue from being rebuilt too many times.) and the number pad does not seem to enter frequencies. It's built like a tank and is easy as pie to figure out. This gives it NOAA weather and some EMS frequencies.This radio works fine and has been my 'round the shack rig for some time.
